R.C. Spurlock

           R.C. Spurlock, 70, of Milan passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home with family by his side.  R. C. was born Tuesday, March 9, 1948 in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Claud and Palma (Engle) Spurlock.  He married Betty Caudill February 22, 1969 and she preceded him in death June 4, 2009.  R.C. retired from the Ford Factory in Connersville after 37 years, was a member of the Missionary Hope Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.  He was a member of the Milan VFW Post #6234, Milan Legion Post #235, Southern Cruises Riding Club and the Sunman Fish and Game Club.  His hobbies included fishing, camping, boating, going to flea markets, horse riding, Nascar, the Bengals and Colts, restoring old trucks, riding his Harley and playing the guitar.

R.C. is survived by son Sandy (Mary) Spurlock of Sunman; sister Marlene Young of Tipp City, Ohio; significant other Linda Foss; grandchildren: Sam Spurlock and Natasha (Ryan) McAdams; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Brayden and Bradley McAdams; several nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother C.R. Spurlock and sister Phyllis Hulsey.

A service celebrating his life will be held 10 AM Wednesday, March 13 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. Ova Allen Spurlock officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Craven Cemetery, with full military rites provided by the Milan American Legion Post #235.  Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 5 – 7 PM Tuesday, March 12 also at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given in honor of R.C. to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, 707 S Main Street, P.O.
