FRANKLIN COUNTY – The proposed REX pipeline that would have ran through the property of some landowners in Franklin County has been cancelled.
Property owners were contacted earlier this summer and asked for permission for environmental studies to take place on their land.
Tom Fey, a representative of REX, said the company put the brakes on the project in August and associates were laid off, according to the Franklin County Observer.
The company, also known as Tallgrass Energy, reportedly offered natural gas contracts on the open market with a June 30 deadline for interested parties to apply.
The newspaper reports that the lack of interest may have led to the project cancellation, for now.
