Police warn of phony money being passed around

Lawrenceburg, IN— Lawrenceburg Police Department sent out a warning on Christmas for residents and businesses.  They stated all should be aware of counterfeit $100 bills circulating in the area, according to a  Facebook post made by the Department on Wednesday.

Authorities said they’ve found the bills in several places and on a number of different people. Police said the fake money feels more like paper than official U.S. currency and has different symbols and markings, including what may be some form of Asian writing.

The Lawrenceburg Police said to not accept the bills as payment and not to try and pass the bills if you have one in your possession.
