Pirates Track Tri-Meet Results Against Knights And Panthers At JC

The Lady Pirates traveled to North Vernon Tuesday night to participate in a Tri Meet against Jennings County and South Dearborn. The Greensburg Girls placed 2nd overall. Jennings County won the event with 97 points. Greensburg had 68 points and South Dearborn scored 1.

The biggest highlight of the evening was Lily Grimes breaking the school record in shot put with a heave of 43′ 9.5″. Jessica Brown set the previous record in 2002 with 42′ 3.5″. Grimes now holds both the indoor record at 42’7 and the outdoor record. Grimes won the event and also dominated in the discus event with 115’10.
The other 2 time individual champion of the evening was Brenner Hanna winning the 1600 in 5:24.1 and the 800 in 2:24.6. Her 800 time was less than 0.9 seconds from her very own school record. Another Champion was Koregan Kidd who won the Pole Vault event in 7’6. The ladies 4 x 100 team of Hilary Ernstes, Kayla Haycock, Emily Million, and Mary West also won their event in 55.8.

Greensburg Boys Track & Field team traveled to Jennings County for a 3-way meet with the Panthers and South Dearborn. Jennings County won the meet with 87 points, followed by the Pirates with 75. The Pirates brought home 8 1st place victories and had a couple individuals and relay teams almost break into the top ten in school history.
