Marceda Ann Eckstein – Sunman

Marceda Ann Eckstein, of Sunman, was born on February 25, 1931 at home in Morris, a daughter to Clarence and Sophie Hausman Lambert.  She married Herbert P. Eckstein on June 30, 1956 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and together they raised five children.  She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering both at the church and at Ripley Crossing in Milan.  Marceda was active in the Quilt Club, Breakfast Club and the Card Club, and enjoyed keeping the Christmas spirit alive.  On Tuesday, April 9th, 2019 at the age of 88, she passed away at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. 

 

Those surviving who will cherish Marceda’s memory include her children, Kevin (Debbie) Eckstein, of Cincinnati, Philip (Rebecca) Eckstein of Sunman, Donna (Steve) Delap of Milan, Nick (Tina) Eckstein of Osgood, and Larry (Mary) Eckstein of Osgood; 6 grandchildren, Stefanie Crawford of Seattle, WA, Adam (Lauren) Eckstein of Cincinnati, Justin (Amanda) Eckstein of Cincinnati, Sara (Michael) Berger of Greensburg, Randi (Stephen) Short of Indianapolis, and Amber (Kyle) Schornick of Sunman; 5 great-grandchildren, Maggie and Jackson Eckstein, Mallory Berger, Bo Short, and Khloe Schornick; a brother, Joe (Bernice) Lambert of Batesville; a sister, Ruth Springmeyer of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Barb Lambert of Cincinnati, and many other family and friends.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Lambert, and a brother-in-law, Don Springmeyer.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  Rosary will be recited at 3:00.  Fr. Shaun Whittington will officiate a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  She will be laid to rest immediately following services in the church cemetery.
