Pirates Fall To Trojans In Boys Soccer

The Greensburg Pirates hosted the East Central Trojans and fell 15-0 at home.

In what was the last home game of the season for the Pirates, Greensburg fell to a 2-0 deficit and could never recover. The Pirates were without senior captain Chase Springmeyer (shoulder) and junior goalie Mason Ponsler (finger). This meant Greensburg had to move Vincent Pavy (arguably the Pirates best two-way player) back to goalie, leaving a hole in the midfield. East Central was able to capitalize and scored 15 goals against the Pirates, the most goals allowed by a Pirate defense over the last 3 years. After seeing upwards of 50-plus shots, Vincent finished in goal with 23 saves and was one of the lone bright spots for the Pirates.
