Perfect announces resignation from Indiana Senate

State Sen. Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg)

(Indianapolis, IN) – State Sen. Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg) has announced he is resigning, effective September 26.

Perfect said in a statement that the growing pressures of balancing his legislative duties with business, personal, and family obligations prompted his decision to step down.

Perfect has represented Senate District 43 for nearly nine years.

The district includes Dearborn, Ohio, Switzerland, Jefferson, and Scott counties and portions of Jennings County.

For the past 42 years, he and his family have operated the popular skiing destination Perfect North Slopes, where he serves as President and CEO.

Perfect is chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce and Technology, and is a ranking member of the Senate Committee on Utilities.

He also serves on the Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Pensions and Labor committees in the state Senate.

A Republican caucus will be held to choose Perfect’s replacement. The date, time, and location for the caucus haven’t been determined.
