Paul Clifton Barger, Jr.-33 of Columbus

Paul Clifton Barger, Jr., 33, of Columbus, passed away at 11:46 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2025. He was born on November 2, 1991, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Paul Barger, Sr. and Michelle (Higgins) Smith. He grew up in Alert and was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Cornerstone Church in Elizabethtown. He enjoyed listening to and making music, writing poems and hanging out with his dad and friends. He is survived by his parents, Paul Barger and Michelle (Luke) Smith, his daughter, Emma, his son, Michael and his brother,  Kenneth Higgins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William T. and Willie Mae Smith and his great grandparents, Charles and Opal McCarty. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Westport Cemetery. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
