Patricia Lee Riddell, 87

Patricia Lee Riddell, 87, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at The Waters of Rising Sun. Patricia was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on January 2, 1938, a daughter of the late Alberta (Henke) Tonne and Raymond Tonne. Patricia attended St. Lawrence Elementary School and later went on to Lawrenceburg High School. Patricia married Charles Riddell on February 26th, 1954 at St. Lawrence. Patricia and Charles were married over 63 years until his passing on August 11, 2017. She worked for several years in the bakery and deli departments for Lackermans, Merries and Tandy’s IGA grocery stores in Aurora. Patricia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. She was also formerly active in the Aurora VFW Auxiliary. Patricia had many interests. She was a huge Elvis fan and also enjoyed listening to country music. In her leisure time she like watching the soap opera Days of Our Lives and also NASCAR racing. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren is what she cherished most.

Patricia is survived by her son, David Riddell (Judy), of Rising Sun, IN; by her grandchildren, Sarah Wickman (Jeff), of North Bend, OH; Amanda Gray, of Harrison, OH; Nicole Bailey (Eean), of Rising Sun, IN and Andrew Riddell (Rachel), of Rising Sun, IN; by her great grandchildren, Lydia Riddell, Jessa Wickman, Delaney Gray, Addison Bailey, Alivia Bailey, Reese Riddelll and Claire Riddell. She is also survived by a sister, Bernadette Wilkerson, of Owensboro, KY. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Charles; by her sons Charles Dennis Riddell and Jeff Riddell; by her brothers, Bill, Gene, Johnny Joe, Charles “Chuck” and Robert Tonne; and by her sisters, Mary Catherine Dawson and Tesse Jackson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 25th, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Aurora, IN. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House Charities. marklandfuneralhome.com
