(Dearborn County, IN) – Oxbow Nature Conservancy in Dearborn County is one of three birding destinations around the state that have been added to the Indiana Birding Trail for 2026.

The others are DePauw Nature Park and Lieber State Recreation Area, both located in Putnam County.

Oxbow protects a floodplain landscape where the Great Miami River flows into the Ohio River.

It also supports grassland birds, shorebirds, waterfowl, and migratory species. The site is managed by Oxbow, Inc.

Indiana Audubon manages the Indiana Birding Trail, which is a curated collection of premier birding locations designed to connect people with birds while supporting conservation, outdoor recreation, and nature-based tourism.

The addition of Oxbow and the others brings the statewide network to 70 sites.
