Owen (Lanny) Ryan, Sr. 74, of Versailles passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at his residence. Lanny was born Tuesday, June 27, 1944, the son of William and Wilma (Wright) Ryan. He married Connie (Frazier) Ryan who preceded him in death. Owen was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed fishing, and time with family and friends swapping stories.
Lanny is survived by daughter: Karrie (Joe) Baker of Mount Juliet, TN; sons: Lanny (Tara) Ryan, Jr. of Milan and Matthew (Crystal) Ryan of Montgomery, TX; 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, brothers: Barry, Vaughn, Darryl and William and sister: Delilah Caudill. Lanny was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Ryan, brother Brad Ryan and sister Lavern Browning.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery, Milan. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, July 6 also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Cancer Society.
