(Greensburg, IN) – An estimated 75 people gathered at Noon on Monday to renew a tradition that has taken hold in recent years – waving American flags on the Moscow Road Bridge over I-74 in Decatur County.
The group known as the Overpass Patriots gathers on patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Patriot Day (September 11) and Veterans Day to wave the Stars and Stripes, rain or shine.
Greensburg resident and Board of Works member Robin Meyer started the tradition by himself several years ago before others started joining in.
The all-time participation record is 109 attendees on July 4, 2022.
