(Greensburg, IN) – Thirty people gathered Monday evening on the Moscow Road Bridge over I-74 to wave American flags on Patriot Day to mark the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Greensburg resident Robin Meyer started the custom of waving Old Glory on the overpass eight years ago but he did it by himself.

Four years later, others started joining Meyer, and the group eventually became known as the Overpass Patriots.

They have gathered since then to waive the Stars and Stripes on the bridge on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and other patriotic dates.

The group will be back on the overpass at 2 p.m. on Veterans Day (Saturday, November 11).
