Osgood man sentenced for theft from Laughery Valley Ag. Coop

Versailles, In. — Ripley County prosecutor Ric Hertel says after almost two years, Steven Linville, 48, of Osgood, former fuel delivery manager for Laughery Valley Ag. Coop has been sentenced for theft.

Court documents say Linville committed hundreds of thefts and delivered false sales document, as part of a well thought out scheme during his time as fuel manager. Company officials testified that Linville was responsible for losses totaling $369,000. Linville avoided prosecution for hundreds of other alleged thefts from customers that lacked probable cause.

Ripley County Circuit Court Judge Ryan King sentenced Linville to 15-years in prison with 3-years suspended and ordered him to pay $98,310.30 in restitution to Laughery Valley Ag. Coop.

Hertel had praise for the investigation conducted by Indiana State Police.
