STATEHOUSE — Southeastern Indiana lawmakers gathered with fellow legislators yesterday at the Statehouse for Organization Day, which is the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.
Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers and provides the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to gather before the session officially reconvenes in January.
“I am eager to continue working with other legislators on the important issues that people in rural Indiana face,” said Senator Jean Leising (R-District 42/Oldenburg). “I look forward to working on many meaningful bills, especially topics relating to agriculture and public health. As always, the needs of my Senate District will guide my decisions at the Statehouse.”
By state law, the 2022 session must conclude on or before March 14.
