(Ripley County, IN) – A teen was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening on Old Michigan Road north of U.S. 50 near Holton.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation determined a 17-year-old male was driving south on Michigan Road around 5:30 p.m. when his pickup truck dropped off the roadway and he overcorrected.
Deputies say the vehicle spun in the roadway and was struck on the driver’s side door by an SUV driven by 57-year-old Carla K. Miller of Osgood.
Witnesses say they saw the pickup swerve and spin out before it was hit by the second vehicle.
The 17-year-old was taken to Margaret Mary Health with serious injuries.
Miller was checked out at the scene and refused transport.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
