One killed in officer-involved shooting in Brownstown

Brownstown, In. — Indiana State Police are continuing their investigation into an officer-involved shooting near the Brownstown Police Station.

Reports indicate the situation started as a domestic incident and spiraled out of control when Barry Rucker, 53, allegedly pulled out a small gun at the scene. Officers fired an unknown amount of rounds at Rucker. First aid was administered at the scene and was transported to Schneck Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing.

Indiana State police are investigating a report of an officer-involved shooting near the Brownstown police Station.

Details are few, but police say no officers were injured in the 200 block of West Walnut Street incident but one subject was transported with a gunshot wound.

As a precaution, Brownstown Schools were placed on lockdown.
