Batesville JV baseball shuts out Rushville

Two pitchers combined to throw a shutout in Batesville junior varsity baseball’s 18-0 win over Rushville on Monday night.

Dane Dudley earned the win for the Bulldogs. Dudley surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out six. Conner Drake threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Colin Taylor was on the pitcher’s mound for Rushville Lions JV Boys Baseball. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing 17 runs on 14 hits and striking out four. Trey Newman threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Brayden Maple led Batesville to victory at the plate by driving in four runs. Maple went 3-for-3 at the plate. Maple drove in runs on a home run in the sixth and another home run in the sixth.

The Bulldogs had their best inning in the sixth, scoring ten runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Maple, Carson Schneider, Keegan Walke, and Ethan Lacey, who all drove in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for the Lions was a single by Jake Cunningham in the sixth inning.

Batesville racked up 16 hits in the win. Maple, Kuria, Krekeler, Schneider, Borgman, and Drake each managed multiple hits for the Bulldogs.
