The Oldenburg Academy (OA) swim team had a standout performance in Thursday’s meet against Batesville and Milan. The team’s triple threat once again dominated the competition, winning both of their respective events.
OA’s Triple Threat:
- Santiago Schutte: 1st in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly
- Nash King: 1st in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke
- Alejandra Schutte: 1st in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke
Other Highlights:
- The 200 Medley Relay teams placed 1st for both the girls (Alejandra Schutte, Avery Austin, Caroline Niese, and Ella Maxwell) and boys (Nash King, Santiago Schutte, Sully Hill, and Grant Rosenberg).
- Boys 200 Freestyle Relay (Santiago, Dominic, Grant, and Nash) placed 1st.
- Grant Rosenberg: 1st in the 50 Freestyle and 2nd in Backstroke.
- Albert Hudepohl: 1st in the 100 Freestyle and 2nd in the 50 Freestyle.
- Caroline Niese: 1st in the 100 Butterfly and 4th in Breaststroke.
- Avery Austin: 3rd in the 200 IM and 3rd in Backstroke.
- Ella Maxwell: 1st in the 100 Freestyle and 2nd in the 50 Freestyle.
- Sully Hill: 3rd in the 100 Butterfly.
- Dominic Yane: 5th in the 200 Freestyle and 4th in the 100 Breaststroke.
- Maria Voegle: 6th in the 50 Freestyle and 6th in the 100 Backstroke.
Despite only having six boys swimming, the OA boys team emerged victorious with 97 points, defeating Milan (84) and Batesville (70). The OA girls team, with just five swimmers, placed 3rd in their division.
