OA Girls Basketball wins opener against Providence

Oldenburg Academy won its girls basketball home season opener Friday with a 46-32 victory over Providence.

After the Pioneers got within five points (31-26) with two minutes left in the third quarter, Oldenburg outscored the opposition 15-6 the rest of the way.

The Twisters Ellie Ryan scored the first nine points of the game and finished with 21.  She also had 12 rebounds to post a double double.

Hannah Haverkos collected 13 points, six rebounds and six steals.  Emma Weberding had a team-best 13 boards and chipped in three points.

Also for OA, Kate Weber collected four points three assists and six swipes while Ashley Borgman booked five points and four caroms.
