JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. — An accident on US 50 in Jennings County claimed the life of a North Vernon man Thursday.
According to the Indiana State Police, Christian B. Nolan, 25, was traveling east on US 50 when the vehicle left the south side of the roadway, near County Road 400 N, which is near Nebraska.
After leaving the roadway, the vehicle became airborne, and ejected Nolan from the vehicle.
The vehicle struck an embankment and rolled before coming to a stop.
Nolan suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was declared deceased on the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s Office.
Police say Nolan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The eastbound lanes of US 50 were closed for around 3 hours for investigation and cleanup.
