(Indianapolis, IN) – A local student will serve during the 2023-24 school year as Indiana FFA State Southern Region Vice President.
Blaine Wagner from the North Decatur Chapter was elected to the post this week at the 94th Indiana FFA State Convention in Indianapolis.
During the convention, Wagner and the other finalists for the state offices participated in a rigorous interview and selection process, with the chosen candidates announced at the convention’s final session on Thursday, June 22.
The other members of the officer team are:
- President: Kelby Roberts, Rushville
- Secretary: Madalyn Denton, Blue River Valley
- Northern Region Vice President: Conner Keeslar, Prairie Heights
- Treasurer: Caden Sixberry, Southmont
- Reporter: Carson Rudd, Carroll @ Flora
- Sentinel: Tanner Weakley, Western Boone
The newly-elected officers will embark on a year of service, providing direction and overseeing the development of the student-led organization, which has more than 13,000 members statewide.
Along with promoting FFA, agriculture, and agricultural education, a majority of their responsibilities include conducting FFA chapter visits, facilitating leadership conferences, and hosting career and leadership development events, to name a few.
