The Civil War Trophy stayed with North Decatur after last night’s county rival match vs South Decatur. The Charger Varsity team picked up their tempo and stayed aggressive to come out on top of the Cougars in 3 games (25-23, 25-6, 25-17).
Starting off strong on serves, Sami Luttel, Caroline Stapp, Hannah Gorrell and Tyce Robbins all served 100%. Luttel and Stapp served up 3 aces each, Gorrell had 2 aces and Robbins had 1. Stapp lead the offense with 17 kills, followed by Madelyn Bohman who put away 15 kills and Ella Kunz had 9 kills. Luttel had 43 assists on the night. Aubrey Kennelly lead the defense by picking up 15 digs and receiving 15 serves. Stapp and Bohman also played well on defense with 13 and 10 digs, respectively.

The North Decatur JV team also came out aggressively to win against South Decatur in 2 (25-18, 25-18). Leading the offense with 5 kills was Kelsey Haley. Brooke Mauer, Ally Whitaker and Gabi Adams each put away one kill. Clare Kinker and Ally Whitaker played a great defensive game with 8 digs each. Anna Mauer picked up 4 digs and Oakley Freely had 3 digs. Ally Whitaker served up 5 aces, followed by Kinker and Sydney Rohls with 2 aces each.
