North Decatur varsity softball grabbed an early lead on its way to a 13-3 victory over Waldron on Tuesday. In the first inning, the Chargers scored 3 runs, thanks to a home run by Kacie Ogden and a passed ball during Sydney Rohls at-bat.
North Decatur added to their scoring with 3 runs in the 2nd inning, 3 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th, and 3 in the fifth inning. The Chargers totaled six hits in the game. Sami Luttel Ogden led the team in hitting with two hits each.
Swain led the North Decatur Chargers to victory in the pitcher’s circle. The lefty surrendered three runs on four hits over five innings, striking out seven.
Alyssa Benson took the loss for Waldron. She lasted four innings, allowing six hits and 13 runs while striking out three.
