North Decatur JV softball takes lead late in win over Greensburg

North Decatur JV Chargers softball nabbed the lead late in the game in a 17-9 victory over Greensburg on Tuesday.

The JV Chargers scored 11 runs of their 17 runs in the fifth inning. Emma Schoettmer, Mia Stier, Libby Crawford, Jo Whitaker, and Shelby Zapfe each drove in runs during the inning.

Mia Stier led the JV Chargers to victory by driving in four runs. Stier went 3-for-4 at the plate. Stier drove in runs on a single in the third and a double in the fifth.

Elizabeth Meister was credited with the victory for the JV Chargers. The righty surrendered nine runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out six.

North Decatur collected 17 hits on the day. Schoettmer and Stier each collected three hits to lead North Decatur. The Chargers tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases.
