Greensburg- The Lady Chargers JV squad battled on the road against county foe Greensburg on Tuesday night, dropping the game in a close overtime match up 36-34.
North came out strong through the first three-quarters of play leading the Lady Pirates 13-5 at the half and 19-8 after three quarters.
However, late foul trouble and costly turnovers from the Charger offense ultimately doomed the JV squad in the fourth and OT session.
Jo Whitaker led the Lady Chargers with 11 points. Brooke Mauer dropped in three-point basket to tie the game in OT; she scored 5 for the contest. Libby Crawford chipped in 6 points, while sophomore Emma Schoettmer had her best offensively night putting in 8 of her own. Ally Whitaker was plagued with foul trouble and did not play in OT, but still added 3 points to the score column. Exchange students, Blanca Akba and Alessandra Brancadaro both played significant minutes tonight and played very hard!
The JV Lady Chargers go to 1-3 and play Batesville on Saturday night.
