Norman A. Conover, 65, of the Hopewell Community passed away at 3pm, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born at Batesville on January 21, 1954 the son of Egbert and Leota Franklin Conover. Survivors include his mother Leota Conover of Hopewell; one brother Nathan (Becky) Conover of Hopewell; two sisters Susan (Larry) Black of Osgood, and Sally (Mike) Webster of Cross Plains; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Norman attended school at Holton and was a 1972 graduate of South Ripley High School. He was a 39 year employee of Arvins at North Vernon where worked in waste management and was also a fork lift operator. He owned, trained, and drove standard bred horses, racing at several venues in the tri-state area, and also operated the family farm. In his spare time Norman enjoyed fishing, collecting John Deere tractors, and spending time with his family. Norman was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and a former member of the Holton Fire Department. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25th at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Ty Choate officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4pm to 7pm and will also be at Hopewell. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Building Fund in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
