(Statewide) – If you or someone you know is interested in serving on your local USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) County Committee, now is the time to get your nomination in.
“The Farm Service Agency committees enable producers to make important decisions on how Federal programs are administered locally to best serve local community needs,” says Bill Beam, USDA’s Farm Service Agency Administrator.
The committees are made up of three to 11 elected members who live in their Local Administrative Area. Each member serves a three-year term.
“To be eligible to serve on the FSA County Committee, a person must participate or cooperate any program administered by the FSA, be eligible to vote in a county committee election, and reside in a local administrative area up for the election,” says Beam.
All nomination forms for this year’s election must be postmarked or received in your local FSA office by Friday, August 1st.
Ballots will then be mailed out to eligible voters on November 3.
December 1 is the last day to return voted ballots to the USDA Service Center.
Newly elected county committee members will then take office on January 1, 2026.
Nearly 7,700 producers serve on more than the 2,200 FSA County Committees nationwide.
