Indiana has new requirements for those that receive unemployment insurance.
In accordance with new legislation passed earlier this year, all unemployed individuals who receive jobless benefits will be required to go to a local WorkOne office for an in-person review of their work search records and an orientation to WorkOne services after their first month of receiving benefits.
This legislation is aimed at getting unemployed Hoosiers back on the job as quickly as possible.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says residents will begin receiving notices about the requirement and additional information in October. Recipients should make sure their address is up-to-date in Uplink, Indiana’s online unemployment insurance filing system.
Recipients of jobless benefits will have to show a record of weekly work searches and a photo ID at the WorkOne visit or risk losing benefits.
