New Point ramp closure on I-74 announced

New Point, In. — The westbound entrance and exit ramps to I-74 in New Point will close Sunday, October 8 at 1 a.m. as part of the $61 million interstate reconstruction. The closure is expected to last for three weeks.

Crews from Milestone Contractors will remove and replace the westbound I-74 right lane, acceleration/deceleration lanes and on/off ramps.

Once the westbound side is complete crews will conduct a similar operation on the eastbound side.

Additionally, motorists can expect single-lane restrictions for patching in both directions on I-74 between Batesville and the State Road 101 exit.
