Nellie M. McQueen, age 99 and 6 months, died June 8, 2024, at her residence in Harrison Trail Health Center, Harrison, Ohio. Nellie was born on December 27, 1924, in Bright, Indiana, to Zeddoc and Emma Johnson.
She was married on June 19, 1942, at age 18, to Noble McQueen. They shared 69 years of marriage before his death in 2011. Nellie was a lifelong homemaker and dedicated wife and mother. She served the Lord in many Baptist churches including Harrison Avenue Baptist and Smyrna Baptist.
Although later in her life Nellie had physical limitations and lost much of her memory, she did not let that stop her from enjoying a full life at Harrison Trail enjoying crafts, games and cooking. She was loved by all whom she came in contact with.
Nellie is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Dorman) Perry of LaFontaine, Indiana, and Debbie (Cloid) Baker of Bright, Indiana. Grandchildren include Ron (Jenny) Ernst, Mike (Betsy) Ernst, Shawna (Paul) Lanterman, Chad (Bethany) Baker and Christian Perry. Great‑Grandchildren are Stacey (Jon) McClure, Carley Ernst, Quentin Perry, Max Lanterman, Carson Baker and Cole Baker. Great-Great Grandchildren are Theo McClure, Mason McClure and Greyson Perry.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Keith Wells officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana.
