Nancy C. Ollier

Nancy Ollier, of Batesville IN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 23, 2023.  She was 78.

Nancy was born in Batesville, March 13, 1945 to Melvin and Rita Maple. She was one of four siblings, having a sister and two brothers.

She would go on to graduate from Oldenburg Academy, becoming a teacher at St. Louis Elementary School.  It was there she would meet her husband of 57 years and love of her life, Gerald Ollier, whom at the time was working as a janitor at the school.

Nancy and Gerald wed on October 23rd, 1965. They had three children together, Stephen, Ann and Christian.  Nancy would eventually leave her role as an elementary school teacher, to dedicate her life to her family, raising their children as a stay-at-home mother. She will forever be remembered as a devoted, wonderful mother and wife, steadfast in her support of and commitment to her family throughout her life.  Nancy was firm in her convictions, held a great sense of humor, was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting, visiting with friends, and attending her children and grandchildren’s sports and events.  Her strong Catholic faith helped her thrive through all of life’s ups and downs. Nancy will be missed greatly, but as a woman of great faith, it brings comfort knowing she has been welcomed in the arms of our heavenly Father.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald, her children Steve (Nancy) Ollier, Ann Lynch and Christian (Jessie) Ollier; grandchildren William (Kelsey) Ollier and great grandson Luca, Patrick (Brianna) Ollier and great granddaughter Clarke, David Lynch, Emma Lynch, Quintin Ollier and Murphy Ollier and her siblings, Brenda (David) Boozer, Melvin (Mary Ann) Maple and Donald (Margie) Maple and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 29th, from 9:00-11:00 am at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Louis Catholic Church.  The burial will follow at the church cemetery.
