Multiple injuries reported in Decatur County school bus crash

Greensburg, In. — A report from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department says 11 children and two adults were injured in a Thursday morning involving a North Decatur County School bus.

Investigators say shortly before 8 a.m. the bus was stopped at the railroad crossing on the State Road 3 bypass between U.S. 421 and State Road 46, when a mini-van driven by Genna Miller, 35, slammed into the back end. The impact forced the bus across the tracks and disabled the min-van.

Investigators believe Miller was traveling 55 to 60 miles-per-hour. The speed limit in the area is 55 miles-per-hour.

Nine children on the bus, Miller and two small children were treated at Decatur County Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the bus, Linda Jackson, 50, was also treated for minor injuries.

Miller was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of severe injuries.
