Mrs. Regenia Lea (Lyons) Turner, age 70, entered this life on January 24, 1954, in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late John M. and Marcella J. (Sands) Lyons. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School, class of 1972. In 1980, Regenia met the love of her life, Kenny Turner and the rest was history! Regenia and Kenny Turner tied the knot on June 30, 1990 in Warsaw, Kentucky. Together they shared a deep bond, and Regenia devoted herself to caring for Kenny, especially during his illness. She embodied the essence of a loving homemaker, showing her unwavering love and commitment to Kenny. For ten years, Regenia worked at Hertz Shoe Store in Madison, Indiana and later for Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky for five years. She was later employed for Vevay Shop Quik for five years and for Lanthier Winery in Madison for four years. Her hard work ethic was often encapsulated in her favorite saying, “If you got time to lean, you got time to clean!” Regenia was a wonderful friend to many and always prioritized her family. In her free time, Regenia enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Regenia and Kenny enjoyed roaming the streets of Vevay on their golf cart with their beloved fur babies. Regenia had a festive spirit and delighted in passing out candy and dressing up for Halloween every year, bringing smiles to the faces of children in her community. She cherished her fur babies deeply and found great joy in their companionship. Regenia will be remembered fondly for her kind heart and nurturing spirit. Regenia passed away on September 4, 2024, at her residence in Vevay, Indiana.
Regenia is survived by her sister, Popsie Smith of Madison, IN; her honorary son, Charles Lorch and his wife, Kari of Rosemount, MN and their children, Sarah, Travis and Jamie; her nephews, John Craigmyle of Madison, IN and Clinton Smith of Madison, IN; her great-nephew, Trevor Smith of Hanover, IN; her aunt that was like her sister, Barbara Lyons of Las Vegas, NV; her several cousins and her furry faithful companions, Brandie and Stella.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” Turner, died March 12, 2024; her parents, John M. Lyons and Marcella J. (Sands) Lyons; her infant sister, Sheila Jo Lyons; her brothers-in-law, Lars Smith and Larry Gene Turner; her nephew, Travis Smith and her faithful furry companion, Moosie.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Auxiliary Services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
