Mr. Steven James Scott, age 62, of Moorefield, Indiana, entered this life on June 27, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the loving son of James Irvin “Nub” Scott and Linda Lee (Lauderbaugh) Scott. He was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a 1980 graduate of John Marshall High School. After high school, he was employed in the kitchen and cafeteria at Fort Benjamin Harrison, in Lawrence, Indiana. At the young age of 19, the Scott family moved to the Switzerland County community where he resided until his passing. Steven farmed all of his life raising beef cattle and tobacco, and operating a dairy farm for several years. He enjoyed water skiing, riding dirt bikes and had a deep love for his animals. He also enjoyed raising a garden and socializing with his family and friends. Steven passed away at 5:30 a.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana.
Steven will be missed by his father, James Irvin “Nub” Scott of Moorefield, IN; his sisters, Lisa Babinec and her husband, Gene II of Columbus, IN, Marianne Lusk and her husband, Michael of Indianapolis, IN, and Julia Scott Garst and her husband, Michael of Fishers, IN; his several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; his aunts and uncle, Patricia Rector of Indianapolis, IN, and Louis and Norma Lauderbaugh of Crawfordsville, IN; numerous cousins and close friends, Marla Swynenberg of Moorefield, IN and Mark Roark of Phoenix, AZ and Mike Kelly of Bloomington, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Lee (Lauderbaugh) Scott, died October 19, 2015; his maternal-grandparents, Marcus Lee “Bob” and Helen (Roberts) Lauderbaugh; his paternal-grandparents, Clyde Curtis and Gertrude Marie (Brett) Scott; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
