Mr. Larry M. Park

Mr. Larry M. Park, age 76, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on September 22, 1949 in Madison, Indiana. He was the son of the late Arthur Clay Park, Jr. and Velma V. (Williams) Park Ricketts. Larry graduated from Vevay High School, class of 1968. Larry was inducted into the United States Navy on March 19, 1969 in Connersville, Indiana. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was transferred to the reserves on December 1, 1970. Larry was honorably discharged on March 18, 1975 with the rate of Airman Apprentice. Larry was united in marriage to Joyce Breeding Deffner on April 25, 1992 in Madison, Indiana. Larry was employed for North American Foundry in Columbus, Indiana and for the US Shoe Factory in Madison, Indiana. He was later employed as a yard supervisor for Indiana Kentucky Electric Power Plant in Madison, Indiana, retiring in 2009 after 38 years of service. Larry resided in the Madison community since 1985 where he was a former member of Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion. He was a member of the VFW Post #1969 of Madison, Indiana, where he enjoyed socializing with his friends. He was a life member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and was also a member of the Switzerland Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM and the Union Baptist Church in Lamb, Indiana. Larry enjoyed watching sports, especially IU basketball and NASCAR. Larry passed away at 12:14 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joyce (Breeding) Park of Madison, IN; his son, Ryan Park of Madison, IN; his daughters, Kai Kempker and her husband, Rick of Madison, IN, and Tiffany Sever and her husband, Monte of Madison, IN; his step son, Douglas Deffner and his wife, Jennifer of Greenwood, IN; his grandchildren, Kennedy Park, Lundun Perry, Camdyn Sever, Shealynn Sever, Kyle (Olivia) Kempker, and Jennifer Kempker; his great-grandchildren, Ariella Jones and Waylen Lapointe; his sister, Judy Kay McKee and her husband, Cabell of San Antonio, TX; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Clay Park, Jr., died September 15, 1955; his mother, Velma V. (Williams) Park Ricketts, died October 1, 2009; his step-father, Herman L. Ricketts, died May 21, 2001; his sister, Renee Deems, died March 22, 2021.

Funeral and Masonic Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
