Mr. James Daryl “Jamie” Stevenson

Mr. James Daryl “Jamie” Stevenson, age 60, of Moorefield, Indiana, entered this life on June 21, 1958, in Milan, Indiana, the loving son of, James William “J.B” Stevenson and Marietta Ruth (Chase) Crandell. He was raised in Ripley County, Indiana, and later moved to Switzerland County, Indiana in 1972. Jamie was a 1976 graduate of the Switzerland County High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in art and speech from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Jamie was employed as a truck driver for Gas Tech in Madison, Indiana, for a few years and helped on the Crandell family farm in Moorefield, Indiana, for several years. He was a member of the Long Run Baptist Church in Moorefield, Indiana. Jamie will be rememebered for his love of painting and drawing and was an accomplished artist, painter and actor. Jamie passed away at 3:30 a.m., Sunday, April 7, 2019, at his mother’s residence in Moorefield, Indiana.

James will be missed by his loving mother, Marietta Ruth (Chase) Crandell of Moorefield, IN; his daughter, Mary Danielle Buxton and her husband, Jonathan of Madison, IN; his grandchildren, Remington and Alix; his sister, Connie Purdum of Arvada, CO; his brother, Gwenn Dale Stevenson and his wife, Sharon of Munfordville, KY; his step-sister, Bonnie Colen and her husband, Jimmy of Canaan, IN; his step-brother, Denny Crandell and his wife, Shawn of Moorefield, IN; his half-brother, William Clay Stevenson of Milroy, IN; his nieces and nephews, Scott Crandell, Kevin Colen, Kyle Colen and his wife, Sarah, Kristopher Colen and his wife, Jennifer, Dale Stevenson and his wife, Judy, Mitzi LeAnn Newkirk and her husband, David and their families; his great-niece and great-nephew, Addison Colen, Elijah Colen and Leland Colen; his aunts and uncles, Dorothy Green of Cross Plains, IN and Darrel and Betty Chase of Fairview, IN; his cousin, Jill Chase and her family of Fairview, IN and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James William “J.B” Stevenson, died September 20, 2015; his step-father, Robert L. Crandell, died February 26, 2012 and his cousin and best friend, Jack Lee Chase, died July 11, 2016.

Friends may call 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., by Bro. Cliff Hartley at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
