Mr. Gordon Ray Craig

Mr. Gordon Ray Craig, age 71, of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on July 20, 1952 in Madison, Indiana. He was one of seven sons born to the parents of Vachel H. and Ruth Jean (Kinman) Craig. He was raised in Quercus Grove, Indiana known as, “Craig corner” and was a 1971 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Gordon was united in marriage on April 9, 2009 to Nancee Kenna Gregory in Vevay, Indiana. Gordon was employed for Pierce & Howell in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, for 20 years. He was later employed for North American Stainless in Ghent, Kentucky, Switzerland County YMCA and for Belterra Casino & Resort. Gordon was baptized at the Patriot Baptist Church and attended Hanover Baptist Church. Gordon enjoyed attending church, working crossword puzzles and going to the Switzerland County Public Library. He loved cooking and entering chili contests. Gordon passed away at 4:17 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Nancee Kenna (Gregory) Craig of Madison, IN; his daughter, Megan Craig and her fiancé, Josh Schmidd of Sturdivant, MO; his granddaughter, Skylar; his brothers, Randy Craig and his wife, Chris of Quercus Grove, IN, Kerry Craig and his wife, Marilyn of Quercus Grove, IN, David Craig and his wife, Lisa of Quercus Grove, IN, Eddie Craig and his wife, Bernita of Quercus Grove, IN, Mark Craig of Quercus Grove, IN and Kevin Craig and his wife, Nancy of Mt. Sterling, IN; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Troy and Jeannie Bartosz of Madison, IN and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vachel H. Craig, died June 21, 2010 and Ruth Jean (Kinman) Craig, died September 18, 1998 and his son, Thor William Craig, died January 16, 2012.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023, by Rev. Mike Jones in the Eastview Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
