Billy Lee Benning, 87, of Lawrenceburg, IN, formerly of Aurora passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
He was born June 27, 1936, in Aurora, IN, son of the late Allan Benning and Myrtle (Steirman) Benning.
Billy worked as a Meat cutter for Tandys IGA, retiring after over many years of service.
Billy always loved to travel with his wife Laney. He also enjoyed going gambling at the casino’s.
Billy is survived by his nephew, Richard McAllister; great nephews and nieces, Ronnie (Rita) McAllister, Rodney (Karen) Steiner, Vickie McAllister, and Leeann Hall; cousin, Peggy (Bud) Lockwood and their children, Angie Koyna and family, Steve (Amy) and family, cousin, Wayne Benning, and cousin Stacie (Bill) Stevenson; many more cousins and family members; and many great, great neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Myrtle Benning; wife, Laney Elva Benning; nephews, Danny Steiner, and Jerry Steiner; great nephew, Robert Steiner; brother, Allan Benning; sister, Marthella Herndon.
Friends will be received Saturday, November 11, 2023, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 pm.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
