Motorcycle accident victim found 12 hours after crash

Kenton County, Ky. — A northern Kentucky man is recovering from a broken leg and other injuries after being found in a ditch 12 hours after a motorcycle accident.

Jamie Mardis, 40, of Ryland Heights, went out for a ride about 8 p.m. Sunday. Family members found him clinging to life at 8:35 a.m. Monday in a ditch near the 8900 block of Porter Road. Crash investigators believe he was westbound when he hit a utility pole and went into the ditch.

Mardis was not wearing a helmet. The accident investigation is ongoing.
