(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur Superior Court Judge Matthew Bailey has denied two motions filed on behalf of Christian Rust, the former Washington Township Trustee charged with one count of theft and three counts of official misconduct.
The felony charges stem from his time in office between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022.
Rust’s attorneys unsuccessfully requested the theft count and one of the official misconduct charges be dismissed. They also asked for a change of venue for Rust’s trial, which was also denied.
His jury trial is scheduled for February 3 at 9 a.m. in Decatur Superior Court, with Judge Bailey presiding.
