GREENSBURG, IN — A total of 72 units will be in the 2022 Decatur County Fair Parade, which steps off Sunday, July 10 at 5 pm.
The parade Grand Marshall will be local native and retired Major League pitcher, coach, and instructor Dyar Miller.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating Indiana’s Automotive Excellence.”
Lineup begins at 3 pm near the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office on South Ireland Street, with judging to take place at 4:30 pm.
The winners will be announced on the Free Stage at the fairgrounds following the parade.
The following four categories will be judged:
- Automotive Best in Show (motorcycle, car, truck, entry) ($25 prize)
- Entry with the Most Enthusiasm ($25)
- Entry Decorated & Supporting the 2022 Parade Theme ($25)
- 4-H Best Decorated & Supporting the 2022 Parade Theme ($25)
Sweet n’ Low Customs, antique cars, tractors, semis, motorcycles, trucks, cars, and several other examples of Indiana’s Automotive Excellence will take part in the festivities.
The parade will leave from Ireland Street at 5 pm and proceed down Park Road to the Fairgrounds. Once at the top of the hill by the fairgrounds everyone will turn left into the fairgrounds and drive through the grounds and will exit next to the Community Building.
Organizers are asking the public to keep Ireland Street open for participant drop-off.
For line-up, drive to McKee Street if you are listed on Ireland or at the Sheriff’s Office. Others may go directly to their destination in the line-up.
Participants not previously registered for the parade may come to McKee Street for line-up assignment.
The Decatur County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members will be there in yellow vests to help with the line-up and to direct traffic. East-west streets will be used for the line-up, so check for your location carefully and know your number in line.

Participants may throw candy or pass out items along the parade route.
