(Ripley County, IN) – Ripley County residents can now take advantage of the new Mobile Integrated Health program.
The initiative, which was recently launched by Ripley County EMS in cooperation with the Ripley County Health Department, is a patient-centered model of care delivered in a patient’s home or in a mobile environment.
Paramedics can visit homes to assist with health screenings, vaccinations, treatments and follow ups.
Mobile Integrated Health can also include social work, substance abuse resources, mental health, chronic disease management, and more.
Officials say measured benefits experienced nationally with these programs are decreased hospital admissions, lower treatment costs to patients, better integration of EMS into the health care system, and increased savings to commercial insurance companies.
It may also reduce non-emergency 911 calls that otherwise would tie up emergency services.
