MMH COVID positivity rates still high but have declined in past week

BATESVILLE, IN — Officials at Margaret Mary Health (MMH) say the COVID-19 positivity rate is still high but declined in the past week to 44.5 percent of patients (157 in total) testing positive.

Hospital officials say they are cautiously optimistic the area may be over the peak of the omicron COVID-19 variant and will continue to see declining rates in positive cases and hospitalized patients.

The overall percentage of hospitalized COVID patients who are unvaccinated continues to trend around 85 percent, according to MMH.

There are currently 16 patients on the Med/Surg floor, with two of the patients in the Special Care Unit.

Nine of the patients are COVID-positive and seven of those patients are not vaccinated, according to hospital officials.
