Mildred Suzanne “Susie” (Kelly) Williamson, 83, of Milan passed away Monday, January 27, 2025, at The Waters of Dillsboro with her loving family by her side. Susie was born on Sunday, February 9, 1941, in Milan; daughter of John and Mildred (McKittrick) Kelly. Susie married the love of her life, Thomas “Ralph” Williamson, on June 20, 1959, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2016. Susie worked at Milan Elementary School, then later retired and returned to the school to assist children with their reading skills. Susie was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, tending to her lawn, and watching sports. Most of all Susie loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Susie will be missed by her son Terry (Fawn) Williamson of Sunman; daughters Shari (Tony) Pennington of Milan and Lisa Reese of Milan; brother David Kelly of Milan; sisters Brenda (Chuck) Mowrer of Indianapolis and Darlene (Dale) Grace of Aurora; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents John and Mildred Kelly; husband Ralph Williamson; brothers Tim Kelly and Paul “Tug” Schuck; and sister Nancy Hershman.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Susie from 9:00-11:00 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Burial will follow at New Craven Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Susie to Milan First Baptist Church or the Nancy Hershman Scholarship.
