Milan Man Arrested After Serious Personal Injury Crash

OSGOOD, Ind. — Monday afternoon, around 1:45, the Indiana State Police and Ripley County Sheriff’s Department responded to a serious personal injury crash involving a motor vehicle and a tractor on State Road 350 near Base Road in Ripley County.

According to state police, a car being driven by Richard Campos, 41, of Milan was traveling westbound on State Road 350 when the vehicle rear ended a tractor being driven by Hubert E. Brown, 65, of Harrison, Ohio.

The force of the collision caused Brown to be ejected from the tractor.

Brown sustained serious life threatening injuries in the crash, and was transported by ambulance to Margaret Mary Health before being transferred to the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Campos was not injured in the crash. He submitted to a portable breath test on the scene, in which he tested a .26 blood alcohol content, which is more than 3 times the legal limit in Indiana.

He was transported to Margaret Mary Health where he submitted to a blood test, and then was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated while endangering another person, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing serious bodily injury.

Campos was then transported to the Ripley County Jail where he was incarcerated.
