Milan varsity girls tennis opened the 2023 season at home on Thursday with a narrow 3-2 loss to the East Central Trojans.
Winners included both #1 and #2 doubles in straight sets. #1 doubles Ariel Haessig and Alyssa Phelps won 7-5, 6-4, and the #2 doubles team of Ellie Knecht and Olivia Deaton won 6-4, 7-5. All three singles positions fell short but have shown drastic improvement over last season. Singles are #1 Ava Honnert, #2 Margot Keller and #3 Kayla Walke.
