Michael Lynn Parish, 70-Westport

Michael Lynn Parish, 70, of Westport, passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. He was born March 8, 1955, in Greensburg, the son of James O. and Wilma (Grimes) Parish who preceded him in death. He was a resident of Westport for most of his life. He also lived in Greensburg, Kentucky, Tennessee and California. He was a 1973 graduate of South Decatur High school and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. Growing up you would find him at a Boy Scout meeting, on his paper route, or playing drums in a band. As an adult he started a job at Delta Faucett that led to a career working as a purchasing agent traveling around the world. He was a member of the Westport Christian Church, former member of the Westport Kiwanis Club and was active with Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his daughter, Nichole (Josh) Richard of Texas; his son, Brent (Oscea) Parish of California; his sisters, B. Darlene Tobias of Westport and Mary Belle Baltus of Tifton, Georgia; his four grandchildren, Ireya, Isabella, Sophia and Alexandra and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor George Willette officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
