Michael Eugene Gordon, 75, of Greensburg, passed away on March 14, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born December 5, 1948, in Goshen, Indiana, he was the son of Russell Eugene and Doris (Wagner) Gordon.
Michael served his nation in the United States Army where he was stationed in Hawaii during the Vietnam War. Michael graduated from Syracuse High School in 1968. He then earned an associate degree in accounting. He later worked for Syracuse Rubber as a press operator for many years. After moving to Greensburg, Michael worked at Rural King where he was able to meet many people and made friends. Michael loved to be able to socialize with the people he crossed paths with.
He was a former member of the Eagles and the VFW. He was an avid Cubs fan for most of his life and found himself rooting for the Reds as well. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Michael adored gardening. His tomato plants brought him immense joy.
Michael married Pamela (Steele) Gordon in November of 1973, and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Wendy (Mike Frazier) Barnes; son, William “Russ” (Robin Ritter) Gordon; grandchildren: Isaac (Jordan) Shepherd, Jacob (Jessica) Shepherd, Dane Jensen, Cammy (Marquis) Barrett, and Travis Ritter; great-grandchildren: Lucas Shepherd, Imi Burgess, Brayton Ritter, and Kora Barrett.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brent Gordon; sister, Theresa Kitson.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held following the visitation at 6:00 pm.
