Michael E. “Mike” Clark

Michael “Mike” Eugene Clark, age 62, passed on February 10, 2025, at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. He was born to Andrew and Joanne (nee Springmeyer) Clark, on March 12, 1962. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and tend to his garden. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus in Batesville, previously serving as Grand Knight.

Each year Mike looked forward to a fishing trip with friends to Patoka Lake, where he was in charge of the kitchen.  He spent weeks planning the menu and trying new recipes to prepare for the guys.  He returned in time to plant a garden large enough to feed all of Lookout and parts of Batesville.  When canning season was over, he prepared for the next most important event of the year, the opening of deer season.  It is reported the deer population of Lookout increased dramatically this year, with Mike missing deer season due to illness.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Susan (Patrick) Hanley of Richmond, VA, Cathy (Pat) Cleveland of Madison, IN, and Mary Jo Clark of Indianapolis, IN; brothers Paul (Lisa) Clark of Indianapolis, IN, and Jim (Carol) Clark of Zionsville, IN; along with eight nieces and nephews, his beloved dog Maggie and friends too numerous to count.  He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Joanne Clark.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, from 9 – 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, Indiana.  A Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m., also at Holy Family Church, with Fr. John Barker, OFM, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial contribution may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund.  For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
